Day Trips from Hudson

For a trip that takes you to an interesting place in the morning, lets you explore it during the day and be home in time for dinner, recall that around Old Tampa, the Tampa of Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders on their way to Cuba, grew up a constellation of small cities with old, quaint downtowns. These places have retained (some) of their old time charm. Directly north of Hudson (20 min) is Weeki Wachee and its fantabulous Weeki Wachee Springs, Northeast is Brooksville, east is Dade City, southeast is Zephyrhills and south are New Port Richey and Tarpon Springs. All are less than an hour away. Visit the atmosphere of their early 20th Century architecture- when Florida was just beginning to be explored and settled by the white man. Get a glimple of small town Americana today!
